Tiny holes in the condenser tubes let refrigerant out, so the AC slowly stops blowing cold. Honda extended the condenser warranty on these Civics, but leaks from road debris aren’t covered.

What Goes Wrong on Civics, Accords and Odysseys
AC condensers on 2016 to 2018 Civics, cylinder deactivation on the V6, and older automatics. Honda covered some of these with extended warranties and recalls, so check those first.
V6 misfires and oil burning (VCM)
On some 2008–2013 Accord, Odyssey and Pilot V6s, cylinder deactivation (VCM) was linked to oil burning and fouled spark plugs, causing misfires and a check engine light.

Honda recalled 2002–2004 Odyssey, 2003–2004 Accord V6 and Pilot transmissions for a second-gear problem. On older Hondas, any transmission noise or slipping is worth checking early.
